Wow, it's been some time since I blogged. After I got back from Hawaii, I was sent on a 4 day trip. In the middle of which, I came down with a nasty cold. My ears are still giving me trouble but I can fly. Today I did a charter flight. I reported at 7:10am and we flew an empty Airbus 320 to San Jose, CA. We picked up the Stanford Football team and took them to Boeing Field in Seattle, WA. They got off and we flew back to Phoenix empty. Long day but pretty easy without passengers. Lorna went to Dallas, then Denver, and now is on her way home. An interesting note about Hawaii. Everything is green there...right? Well, if it isn't, they paint it green. We played golf at The Dunes and after about an hour and a half, I noticed that my white shoes were looking a bit green on the soles. They had painted sections of grass that were a little brown. I don't know about you, but I think that's cheating. I mean Phoenix could be a tropical Paradise if all it took was a little bit of paint. I'm writing the governor immediately.

News flash: I am in Maui for the first time in my life. Sadly, Lorna has something special going on and can't be here.

TSA | Transportation Security Administration | Federal Flight Deck Officer Program Information

I received a call today from the Transportation Security Administration informing me that I have been accepted into the Federal Flight Deck Officer program. Interesting...eh?

TechTV | TechTV's 'Music Wars'

The above address is for a TV show on Tech TV this Friday night. It is on at 8pm eastern and 5pm Pacific. You have to have cable to get it and in some areas you need to have Digital Cable. I entered my opinions on the issues at hand (file sharing and the effects of MP3s on the music industry) on the website and they just called me to be in the audience for the show and the open mike portion of the broadcast. I don't know if I will speak but it will be interesting. The broadcast will be live.

The other day I saw this very religious guy on Larry King Live. He was defending that jackass judge who installed his own 10 commandment statue in the court house. He was complaining to Larry that "the courts aren't reflecting the will of the people". I was always taught the courts weren't supposed to reflect the will of the people, they were supposed to reflect the will of the constitution. And even if 99% of the country wanted something, if it was unconstitutional, they didn't get to have it. I'm only 39, but I don't remember ever seeing as many attempts to get around the constitution as I have in the last 3 years. I know its only paranoia, but I'm starting to feel worried.

I got back from a 4 day trip this afternoon. Lorna met me at the airport and I almost didn't recognize her. She got all of her hair cut off. It looks very cute. I spent Fri. night in NY. That's the first time I have been to Manhattan. It also may be the last. I have always been able to understand people, even when I didn't agree with them. But I will never understand why someone would want to live in New York City. The second night was in Orange County. I could totally live there. The weather was as close to perfect as they make. Combine that with an ocean breeze....Oh yea! The third night was in Newark, NJ. Do I need to say anything here? I didn't think so. I have 5 days off now and I am going to enjoy every one of them. Bye!

Update: Hotel bar filled with cheesy band and desperate business people. Life's not so bad after all. At least I'm not one of these huddled masses!

I am in Orange County tonight. Lorna is in Wichata, KS. I dream of a day when I can see my wife for more than a day or so a week.

My last day off until next Tues. Lorna is flying again today. She's going to Concord, CA. Only about 15-20 min's up the road from home. She's only there for lunch and then home. They must have a survailance camera in our house. Whenever I have a day off, they call her to work. I checked the open time for tomorow. There's another Mexico City trip at 8:30am. I don't know if I will get it or not, but if I do, I'm taking my camera this time.

First day off in 7 days. Feels good to not be a slave of the cell phone. Lorna is flying today. She flew some people to San Jose, CA. She's on her way home now. Yesterday, Lorna got a membership at the gym I go to. I just got back from the gym this morning. I went to the Scottsdale club. I normally go to the Mesa club but the Scottsdale location has a machine that the Mesa location doesn't have. The Scottsdale club has some of the most perfect women in the world working out each morning. These are your typical trophy wives. They have skin that is so evenly tanned that it has to be from a booth rather than the sun. Breast implants prevail throughout the club. Dow/Corning probably has a whole wing of their factory set aside for Scottsdale. The level of physical fitness in these women is unreal. I would do anything to have a body in such good shape...well, except eat right and exercise. And each of them have one of the biggest rocks in the world on their left hand. It's like a really healthy version of the Stepford Wives. Of course they only make up about 50% of the club. The other half are big, fat, sweaty men looking for trophy wives. I feel much more comfortable sweating my ass off at the Mesa club.
